No child should be left to struggle with their mental health
Christmas should be a time of peace. But right now, across the country, hundreds of thousands of young people feel totally overwhelmed.
Last year, one in three children were unable to access specialist mental health support when they needed it. Being forced to wait can mean problems quickly spiral.
Show young people you stand with them. Add your name today if you agree that young people should be able to access the support they need, as soon as they need it.
“I felt lost. I felt lost in my emotions. It was like a wave of all these different emotions.”
Anthony was being bullied at school and one of the bullies outed him as being gay. Feeling totally overwhelmed, he began experiencing panic attacks. Anthony tried to get help, but the wait to see a school counsellor was eight months.
Thankfully, at a drop-in session run by The Children’s Society, Anthony got the help he needed, and finally began to feel a sense of peace.
"I don’t think I would have gotten through any of it, if it wasn’t for the support I received from The Children’s Society"
No young person should be left waiting.
Sign now to show you stand with young people like Anthony and help a child quiet the noise this Christmas.
